Almost 4 years ago Jose Diaz first appeared on the Fat Guy Forum! He was over 550 pounds and feeling focused on starting his journey to reclaim his health. As often happens in life though, things did not go as planned and it would be a few years before he took action. He reached out and asked if he could come back on to update us all on his journey's progress and I was honored! It's not easy to say, "Remember when I said I was ready? I wasn't." Jose opens up about how things got worse before they got better, in a story that I am sure most of us can relate to now!
He's currently down over 220 pounds and living an active life! Still coaching soccer but now more of an active participant than sideline observer! I am excited for you to hear from him again. If you can relate to the roller coaster hills a weight loss journey can take, this one is definitely for you!!!

Manny Ortiz joins me on this week's all new Forum to talk about how his experiences with trauma, PTSD and opiate abuse created a perfect storm with a food addiction that brought him to 556 pounds, merely existing instead of living. His life was small and filled with darkness until he realized that he needed to not only fight to find the light, but use the tools and resources outside of himself to do so. His story is one of triumph and battle that will inspire anyone regardless of where they are in their journey. We also talk about one of his true lifesavers, his service dog Kaia! Nate Goncalves has always lived his life with hyper-focus in all of his endeavors. He did not grow up overweight but after returning from serving our country he dealt with physical injuries and mental health challenges that brought addiction to pain killers into his life. In this week's new Forum he shares how conquering that addiction brought new challenges including seeing his weight balloon to 415 pounds. This is where the hyper-focus came into play as he began a journey that not only included weight loss but building his body to reflect the strength he clearly shows on the inside. Max Radovanic joins me on this week's all new Forum to talk about how struggles with his mental health and the medications prescribed to help him lead to his developing a disordered relationship with his appetite and food. Max was at an average weight at age 12 and by 18 he was 430 pounds. But it wasn't just about food, Max was also drinking and smoking heavily at that time. We talk about how one day in bed he finally had enough and got started on this journey that has brought him to a new place in his health down 200 pounds. Max is honest about how his journey isn't all about the highs we see on the usual social media highlight reel, but still involves daily struggles. He wants to spread the message that this is normal, but change is still possible even when things feel hard.
